Taxidermy & Shipping

Taxidermy forms an integral part of your hunting safari, yet for many clients it can also be the most complicated and frustrating part of the entire process. At Umlilo Safaris, we do things differently. Instead of simply handing your raw trophies over to a third party and stepping away from the process, we take a hands-on approach from start to finish — not only with the taxidermy itself, but also with the shipping and clearing process.

We have a dedicated staff member in our office who personally manages your taxidermy and shipping order, making Umlilo Safaris your single point of contact and service provider throughout the entire process. We believe clear communication is essential, and therefore all clients receive regular monthly updates on the progress of their orders. In addition, each client receives login details to our online tracking system, where you can monitor the progress of your order at any time.

We have a very specific and well-organized system in place, and when the process is followed correctly, the entire taxidermy and shipping process becomes simple and hassle-free.

Key Points:

  • There are two types of orders: Dip & Pack or Complete Mounting

  • Dip & Pack orders take approximately 4 – 6 months to complete and crate

  • Complete mounting orders take approximately 12 months to complete and crate

  • The process timeline only starts once the deposit payment has been received

  • For group orders, the timeline starts once all members of the group have paid their deposits

  • The remaining balance is only payable once the mounting process is complete

Remember: The end of your safari is not the day you leave Africa — it is the day you hang your trophies on your wall.
