PAYING IT FORWARD

Umlilo Safaris, being blessed to survive the 2009 Global Financial Crises as well as the Covid Pandemic, have now officially found a fantastic platform to give back / to plough back / to pay forward our blessings to people in need. Francois Dorfling, owner of Umlilo Safaris, not by chance, but he believes it was destined when he crossed paths with the owners of Maxi Blend whilst in transit at OR Tambo Airport in- between Hunting Safaris earlier in this year (2024).

Poverty causes mal-nutrition and even starvation in many cases, especially in our 3rd world communities. Such communities are found all over South Africa, in our cities, towns, villages and certainly informal settlements. The sight of hungry children and the hungry unemployed in the streets day and night is enough to bring most of us to tears – and our Country is filled with them.

Francois & Melissa Dorfling and their Umlilo Safaris team hereby have joined to pledge to help make a positive difference by feeding the needed. A portion of every Safari’s Income are from now allocated towards this project. We will periodically provide updates on social media to keep our supporters from abroad informed. This is an amazing project to be part of and we invite anyone that could assist please.

Our Clients are hereby invited to assist with donations to our local people in need. If anyone would like to donate Maxi Blend meals via ourselves, or to an NGO or any other organisation, we would be happy to arrange that on your behalf. Simply email or whatsapp us your request, and how much you would like to donate, and once we receive your payment, we can arrange to have it delivered and send you feedback.

For International Clients, the cost of this an all-in-one top-value nutritional meal is extremely low: $1 / €1 to feed 4 people

The Product

Maxi Blend was formulated for emergency food aid, feeding schemes, soup kitchens and home use. It is light weight and easy to prepare, just add to boiling water and cook for 20-30 minutes. Maxi Blend supplies 20grams of protein and 1129 kj of energy per 100g, as well as iron, magnesium and calcium. Maxi Blend is packed in 250g, 500g and 1kg packs. Once cooked, 250g will typically feed 3-4 people. It is a versatile product which can be used for on-site distribution of dry meals to employees in logistically challenging environments, and for on site preparation of meals in difficult and remote locations such as by fire fighters or Game rangers. It is also useful for canteen meals for workers in factories etc where one can enhance the versatility of Maxi Blend by adding vegetables or meats.
