Dorfling Family invites you to the malaria-free Eastern Cape of South
Africa. Situated near the town of Kirkwood, we are only 45 minutes
drive by car from your pick-up point at Port Elizabeth Airport.
Umlilo Safaris, as Outfitter & Professional Hunters, is a family
run third generation concern. Your Hosts, Frans & Anna Dorfling,
with sons Francois & Johan, known for their warm-hearted South
African hospitality, together with highly experienced staff offers
a wealth of knowledge regarding the area, the species & the hunting
conditions in the Eastern Cape. It is very important to us that every
guest arrive as our client but leave as our friend.
With more than 30 Species on offer and with our season running from
March to end October, we invite novice hunters as well as experienced
trophy hunters to enjoy proper walk & stalk style hunting - in
the absence of livestock, internal fencing & confined hunting
camps. We do not allow shooting from any vehicles.
Hunting Methods
Please be assured that hunting is only conducted on a highly ethical
basis, being kept sporty and always on foot, keeping it a challenge
between man and animal. As professional hunters our aim is to guide
the hunter in as close as possible before taking the shot with shooting
ranges up to 150 yards. With only 1 Client per Professional Hunter
your hunting experience will be of the highest standards.
Come on Safari with us and experience hunting in all types of habitat
our region has to offer. We always aim to show guests as much of our
area as possible. With well over 150 000 acres of total hunting area
(including concessions) - the sky is the limit! Hunt Cape Springbuck
on the great plains of the Karoo; or what about the "clown of
the veldt"- the Black Wildebeest; the majestic "ghost of
Africa"- the Cape Kudu; the elusive & secretive Cape Bushbuck
or the very tough & underestimated "poor mans Buffalo"-
the Blue Wildebeest.
Non-Hunting
Guests
We welcome all non-hunting guests (wives and children), making sure
everyone in the group has an action packed holiday. Non-hunitng activities
include the following Day Trips (charged as supplement):
